Vacuum excavation proves ideal for West Country challenge
21st Sep 2022
VAC UK has been brought into help deliver a key utility maintenance and replacement programme in Somerset
The project will see a significant length of water main replaced through the ancient village of Bicknoller which lies on the western side of the Quantock Hills.
A key challenge is negotiating the narrow lanes that are typical of this part of Somerset so operational footprint is critical.
Patrick Curran, Director at VAC UK said: “This is a great example of where vacuum excavation comes into its own. Typically, a vac ex can work out of an area a third smaller than is possible using a conventional excavator and tipper which means less impact and disruption to the local community.”
