Vacuum excavation makes short work of driveway clearance
17th May 2022
A job in Surrey gave a VAC UK excavator team the opportunity to show how vacuum excavation’s flexibility can handle relatively light residential work as well as heavy-duty commercial challenges.
The driveway of a house in Ascot had been laid to gravel on top of a ground stabilisation grid. The original aggregate had proved unsuitable and needed to be removed. The vac ex proved more than up to the task . Working on only one fan so that the grid was not disturbed, it was possible to clear the entire driveway in one day – ready for fresh gravel to be put down.
It’s a good illustration of vacuum excavation’s versatility. It turned what would have been quite time-consuming – breaking down the grid, hand excavating every piece of stone and then having to use a tipper to take it off site – into a straightforward piece of work.
